Overall fabric output of above-scale companies in April, 2010 reached 5.297 billion meters, rose by 6% relative to last month. Accumulated fabric output of above-scale companies for the first four months totaled 18.528 billion meters, rose by 17.71% year-on-year, in which cotton fabrics accounted for 3.104 billion meters, rose by 4% as compared with March. Accumulated cotton fabric output of above-scale companies for the first four months totaled 10.971 billion meters, rose by 20.48% year-on-year.

In addition, due to the price surge of cotton and cotton yarns, many textile companies shifted to cotton/polyester blends and polyester yarns. Therefore the output of cotton blends and chemical fiber fabrics also maintained a stable growth, respectively rose by 20.48% and 15.28% year-on-year.
